The circuit from Cowgill, around Shank Houp, is a fine seven mile walk for a summer evening (or at any time of year or day, for that matter), reaching its high point on the 626 metre high summit of Hudderstone before continuing over Woodycleuch Dod and ending on the minor summit of Ward Law which, although below 500 metres elevation, makes a fine vantage point for the high Culter fells to the east and the sublime Culter Water valley as it meanders from the Coulter Reservoir to Kilbucho Glen.
Ward Law, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
