February 2008 - Blencathra, North Eastern Cumbrian Fells, Cumbria, England.

Blencathra dominates the view when travelling from Penrith west into the heart of the Lake District's northern fells and, from its many ridges, is an outstanding viewpoint for the Vale of Keswick, Derwent Water and the surrounding fells.
Seen here in winter raiment from Scales Fell with shafts of sunlight picking out the summit and the distant fells of the Newlands Valley.

Camera : Canon EOS-1DS Mark 3
Lens : 16-35mm f2.8LII at 20mm
