July 2009 - Ben Donich, Southern Highlands, Argyll, Scotland.

The Corbett of Ben Donich sits at the head of Glen Croe and, as it commands an almost perfect position between the Arrochar Alps to the north and Loch Goil to the south, the views from its summit plateau are among the best in the area. To the south, the eye is drawn along Loch Goil to the end of Loch Long and on to the Firth of Clyde and the towns of Greenock and Gourock. To the east, over the Brack and Loch Long, Ben Lomond dominates the scene above the eponymous loch while, to the north, a jumble of mountains seems to go on forever, with the Arrochar Alps and Beinn Buidhe dominating the view over the Rest and Be Thankful. To the west, the eye is led over the Corbett of Beinn Bheula to Loch Fyne and views of distant islands, notably Arran and Jura.
This view, taken just at the beginning of the descent from the summit, shows Beinn an Lochain on the left and Beinn Lubhain and Ben Ime on the right, with Loch Restil nestling between.
You'll have guessed this is one of my favourite walks and rightly so..!!
